Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced SEN TA to join an ASD alternative provision based within a mainstream school in Waltham Forest, East London. The role requires supporting pupils with ASD and additional needs, 1:1 and small-group work, and contributing to an inclusive learning environment.

You will work with teachers to help pupils engage with learning, develop independence and feel safe and supported throughout the day. Start immediately for a long-term position.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience supporting children with SEN, ASD or complex needs.
• Understands the importance of consistency, patience and positive reinforcement.
• Calm and confident when supporting challenging behaviour.
• Enthusiastic, caring and committed to making a genuine difference.
• Works well as part of a wider school team.
• Reliable and available for an immediate, long-term position.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASD and additional needs.
• Work alongside teachers and support staff as a committed SEN TA.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Help manage sensory and behavioural needs using a calm and consistent approach.
• Encourage engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
