Job summary

Justteachers Ltd in Spalding is seeking a dedicated Autism Specialist School assistant to join a friendly, supportive team on a full-time basis from September. You will help pupils access learning, support routines, and develop independence in a personalised classroom environment.

Experience with autism and SEND, strong communication and patience are essential. Training in visual supports and structured teaching is valued, with qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and SEND.
• Understanding of autism and ability to adapt support to individual needs.
• Confidence using visual aids, structured teaching, and positive behaviour support.
• Strong communication, patience and relationship-building skills.
• Desirable Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare or related qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to access learning and manage routines.
• Deliver differentiated, engaging lessons with staff.
• Use autism-friendly strategies to engage students.
• Reinforce objectives and help pupils access curriculum.
• Promote independence and positive behaviours.
• Assist with transitions and daily routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and families.
