Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is seeking a full-time Autism Support Assistant for a specialist provision in the Bourne area, starting September 2026 on a long-term basis. The role focuses on pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, delivering structured, personalised support to help each pupil meet EHCP outcomes.

You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to help pupils access learning, build independence and confidence in a specialist educational setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with autism (school, care or similar setting desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism
• Support the delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions
• Use structured communication approaches and visual support strategies where appropriate
• Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Encourage the development of independence and social skills
• Implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Support pupils during transitions and throughout the school day
• Monitor and record pupil progress, wellbeing and engagement
