Five Education is seeking an In Class Support Assistant to help pupils in Martock, Somerset, with autism support and daily classroom activities. The role focuses on patient, calm and nurturing assistance to ensure pupils participate and thrive in learning routines.

Ideal candidates will have experience in schools or SEND settings, a safeguarding mindset, and the ability to adapt to individual needs within structured classroom environments. Temporary position with PAYE pay structure.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism (professional or personal).
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach in classroom settings.
• Ability to adapt to individual needs and structured routines.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism, 1:1 or in small groups.
• Help pupils engage with learning activities and routines.
• Encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff in schools.
