Job summary

Saint Paul’s Catholic High School in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 to work in the Autism Resource Provision. You will provide personalised support to pupils with autism to help them regulate, engage in learning and become more independent, in collaboration with teachers and families.

Join a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored learning plans, support pupils in mainstream lessons when needed, and contribute to building pupils' confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of autism and how it affects regulation and learning
• Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with pupils
• Calm, patient approach with anxious or dysregulated pupils
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to follow individualised plans and apply strategies consistently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Give personalised support to pupils with autism to help them regulate, engage in learning and build independence
• Work with teachers, the Resource Provision team, pastoral staff, families and professionals to understand and meet individual needs
• Use a calm, autism-informed approach to support communication, sensory, emotional and behavioural regulation
• Build positive relationships and increase pupils' confidence and independence
• Contribute to delivering personalised learning programmes and interventions
• Support pupils in mainstream lessons and wider school activities where appropriate
