Job summary

National Autistic Society in Rotherham is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to deliver highly personalised programmes for autistic pupils. The role requires QTS, a genuine commitment to SEND, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with therapists, families and Learning Support Assistants to meet EHCP outcomes, adapt learning to individual needs, and foster independence and wellbeing across the school day.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience in teaching autistic pupils or SEND settings is essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with families and therapists.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly personalised teaching for autistic pupils with diverse needs.
• Plan and deliver a broad, engaging curriculum tailored to individual learning profiles.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, families, therapists and other professionals to meet EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor pupil progress, assess learning, and contribute to annual reviews and target setting.
• Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence and wellbeing.
