Job summary

Ribble Autism School is seeking a dedicated qualified teacher who has completed the ECT induction and is committed to delivering personalised education for autistic pupils aged 4-11. The role focuses on individual EHCP outcomes within an SCERTS-informed framework and a multidisciplinary approach with therapists.

You will lead personalised provision, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to ongoing curriculum development and staff CPD.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Undergraduate degree required.
• ECT induction completed.
• Experience working with autistic pupils or SEND is essential.
• Commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice.
• High expectations for all pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Calm, resilient and reflective approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate personalised learning programmes tailored to EHCP outcomes.
• Use our SCERTS-based pathways to design meaningful learning experiences.
• Collaborate with Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to embed therapeutic approaches.
• Support and develop pupils' communication, social understanding, emotional regulation and independence.
• Use assessment systems to monitor progress and inform next steps.
• Contribute to development of autism curriculum and provision.
• Lead curriculum area in line with school improvement priorities.
• Deliver CPD and share best practice with colleagues.
• Lead, coach and manage teaching assistants to ensure high-quality provision.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.
• Contribute to wider life of the school and outcomes for all pupils.
