Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a compassionate KS1 SEN Teacher to join a specialist Autism Provision school. You will plan and deliver personalised lessons for pupils with ASC and contribute to IEP targets in a nurturing environment.

The role offers ongoing CPD, a supportive multidisciplinary team, and opportunities to work with TEACCH approaches and PECS to support learning and behaviour.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience working with KS1 pupils with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices.
• Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to behaviour management.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASC.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
• Create a structured, sensory-aware classroom environment that supports communication and emotional regulation.
• Use a range of specialist strategies (e.g., PECS, visual timetables, TEACCH approaches) to support learning and behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
• Monitor progress and provide detailed feedback and reports.
