Job summary

The BASE at Thomas Bennett Community College seeks an ambitious HLTA to lead autism-focused provision within our Specialist Support Centre for 19 pupils. You will work with SENCO and school leaders to embed inclusive practice and coordinate a team of LSAs.

Ideal candidates have HLTA status or Level 4 qualification, with experience supporting secondary SEND. You’ll drive interventions, track progress, and support transitions across years, within TKAT’s supportive environment.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or a recognized Level 4 qualification.
• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
• Significant experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEND (Autism/ADHD/SEMH) and leading group learning.

Responsibilities

• Provision Leadership: coordinate the daily running of The BASE and support the LSA team with the SENCO/Deputy SENCO.
• Plan, deliver, and track Section F interventions (Speech, Language & Communication / SALC, scaffolding, social wellbeing) using MIS like Arbor.
• Bridge mainstream curriculum with high-level content into accessible milestones for SSC pupils.
• Contribute to EHC needs assessments and Annual Reviews with parent and student voices.
• Act as autism specialist across TBCC, attend triage meetings and drive school-wide understanding of neurodivergence.
• Manage transitions from primary feeder schools through to post-16 pathways.
