Job summary

Blackhorse Primary School is seeking a Care Assistant to join our resource base, a 22-place specialist base for children with Autism and social communication needs within a mainstream primary school. You will support pupils with intimate care and life skills, helping them access learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires, and offers, collaboration with our Inclusion Team, ongoing training, and a commitment to developing lifelong skills in classroom and school settings.

Qualifications

• Be a positive role model.
• Be motivated and aspirational for resource base children, making a real difference to outcomes for autistic children with social communication difficulties.
• Have a real desire to be a part of a hardworking, supportive and creative team.
• Fluency in spoken English is essential for the post.

Responsibilities

• Support children through aspects of intimate care, personal hygiene, life skills and developing independence.
• Help ensure that all pupils can access their learning and school environment safely and effectively within the school environment.
