Pertemps Education Network is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Autism Provision supporting Year 4/5 pupils in Lambeth. This role is well-suited for an aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable experience in both specialist provision and mainstream classrooms.

The morning focuses on autism-specific support, with afternoons spent integrating pupils into mainstream classrooms to access learning. You will collaborate with teachers and the SEND team to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering support to pupils with autism and high-needs SEN.
• Strong understanding of inclusive practices in mainstream settings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with pupils, parents, and staff.
• Confident, proactive and adaptable approach in busy classroom environments.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support two pupils with autism within a specialist provision.
• Assist pupils with learning, communication, and social development.
• Support pupils within the provision during the morning.
• Accompany pupils into mainstream classrooms during the afternoon to access learning.
• Encourage independence, engagement, and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SEND team to meet individual pupil needs.
