Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist Autism Provision within a primary setting in London.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups with Year 2/3 pupils, implementing personalised strategies and promoting social, communication and behavioural development.

The role requires patience, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff to help each learner access the curriculum.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Provision (Year 2/3)

Location: Tulse Hill, Lambeth

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a proactive and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist Autism Provision in a primary setting.

This role will involve working with children in Year 2/3, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop social and communication skills, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

The Role
  • Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Implement personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
  • Promote independence, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with autism and high-needs SEN.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Proactive, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Ideal Candidate

You will have experience working within SEN settings and be confident supporting pupils with complex needs. A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to individual learning styles are essential.
