Job summary

AWD online in Nottingham invites applications for a Support Worker focusing on learning disabilities and autism. This role helps autistic adults and people with learning disabilities live fulfilled, independent lives at home and in the community, promoting independence and person-centred care.

You’ll work as part of a friendly team, covering shifts on a rota basis (Early/Late/Long Day/Night). Key duties include personal care prompts, daily tasks, and facilitating meaningful activities to support

Qualifications

• Proven experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism
• Positive, encouraging and person-centred approach
• Creative, enthusiastic and committed attitude
• Willing to support people with complex needs and wheelchair users
• Able to work varying shifts on a rota basis
• The right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Person-Centred Support: Help people achieve their aims and objectives through proactive and person-centred support
• Promoting Independence: Support people to live fulfilled lives in their own homes and within the community
• Community Participation: Encourage people to develop positive relationships and take part as equal members of the local community
• Personal Care Support: Prompt and support people with everyday tasks, including personal care where required
• Activities and Interests: Take part in activities that contribute to a healthy lifestyle
• Complex Needs Support: Support people with complex physical needs and wheelchair users
• Team Working: Work with the team to provide high-quality support
