Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting on behave of one of schools in Smethwick to fill a Learning Support Practitioner role in the Focus Provision for Autism. You will support children across the primary age range with autism-specific approaches, working with a dedicated Focus Provision team and a class teacher.

The role involves creating resources, using visual aids, and developing key vocabulary to support targeted learning. DBS checked work with safeguarding emphasis is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with autistic children using a range of communication strategies and autism-specific approaches to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group support within Focus Provision classes.
• Work with the class teacher and Focus Provision team to create resources and visual aids to support understanding.
• Develop key vocabulary and support children with specific targets.
