Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a warm primary school in Bury. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with autism and SEMH, helping them access learning and regulate emotions.

You will work closely with the class teacher and support staff to provide targeted support, promote positive relationships, and create an inclusive, safe learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Full-time availability 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and safeguarding/pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils with autism and SEMH to access the curriculum.
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies.
  • Help pupils develop social skills, confidence and independence.
  • Implement support plans and targeted interventions.
  • Encourage participation in classroom learning and school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and families.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
