Job summary

Northeast Arc is seeking an Autism Coach to work one-on-one with individuals in the community, helping them set goals and develop skills for independent living. The GPS Program partners with DDS contracts to prepare individuals for broader life skills and self-sufficiency.

The role focuses on guiding clients toward their best life through structured supports. You will support clients in community activities, collaborate with a supervisory team, and document progress while commuting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with an individual with disabilities.
  • Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Comfort working in home or community-based environments.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to stand for 80% of the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must successfully complete and pass all required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized supports to clients for community inclusion, building independence.
  • Teach executive functioning and relational boundaries per the plan objectives.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and goals with supervisor.
  • Complete and submit time sheets and incident reports per policies.
  • Use personal vehicle to transport individuals to activities when applicable.
  • Provide mandated reporting per Massachusetts laws.
