AP Education in Chelmsford is seeking an Autism and ADHD Specialist tutor for 1:1 support. You will provide face-to-face sessions with learners from Early Years to KS4, delivering core subjects or SEND-specific support.

You will work with students with SEND/SEMH, autism, and related needs, conducting baseline assessments and producing progress reports. The role includes collaboration with SALT, OT, and Social Workers and attendance management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH requirements.
• Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic settings.
• QTS or HLTA certification preferred; however, candidates with two years UK experience without qualifications are welcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, dependable and initiative-taking mindset.

Responsabilités

• Provide face-to-face 1:1 support for learners from Early Years to KS4.
• Deliver core subjects (Maths, English, Science) or SEND-specific support.
• Implement effective behaviour management using positive strategies and patience.
• Perform baseline academic and emotional assessments to inform targeted support.
• Prepare detailed daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals (e.g., SALT, OT, Social Workers).
• Manage daily attendance reporting via attendance software.
