Vickerstock are recruiting experienced Authorised Electrical Operatives for a contract project in Belfast. The role covers installing LV monitoring equipment in ground-mounted substations, wiring three-phase/neutral references and ensuring live data communications are established.
You will work in a two-person team, testing and commissioning equipment, recording results and maintaining documentation while complying with RAMS and safety procedures in substation environments.
Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist engineering and automation company to recruit experienced Authorised Electrical Operatives for a contract project based in Belfast.
This is an opportunity to join a ground-mounted substation project involving the installation and commissioning of low-voltage (LV) monitoring equipment within operational NIE Networks substations.
The successful candidates will have previous experience working within electrical utility, distribution network or substation environments and must hold the specific NIE Networks authorisations required for this project.
Working as part of a minimum two-person team, your responsibilities will include:
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
Please note: alternative D7 authorisation variations will not be accepted in place of the required D7C substation authorisation. Applications cannot be considered without evidence of current D1E, D2E and D7C authorisations.
Safety is paramount when working within operational substations. There is no lone working on this project, and live LV activities require personal supervision by a second appropriately authorised person.
The D1E, D2E and D7C authorisations do not permit network switching. Any LV switching or back-feed activity must be undertaken by a separately authorised NIE Networks Senior Authorised Person (SAP) holding the appropriate LV switching authority.
This project is offered on a contract or subcontract basis and is strictly Belfast-based. Candidates should be able to demonstrate relevant substation experience, the required authorisations and availability to support the project.
All conversations will be treated in the strictest confidence.
