Job summary

KBM Resourcing Ltd. has a great opportunity for a Senior Authorised Person to join a well-known Electrical Contractor in Hamilton.

The role involves leading HV projects from design through commissioning on 11kV–33kV networks across client sites including hospitals and distilleries. Responsibilities include HV outages, switching, isolation, earthing, safety documentation, and on-site testing with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• HV Senior Authorisation status required (e.g. DNO Authorisations)
• Experience with 11kV–33kV distribution networks preferred
• Minimum 5 years in electrical contracting environment
• Strong safety mindset with commercial awareness

Responsibilities

• Execute construction and asset replacement projects on 11kV-33kV distribution networks.
• Prepare HV outages with HV Ops Team and clients.
• Organise HV switching, isolation, earthing, and issue of safety docs for HV networks up to 33kV.
• On-site testing and commissioning of customer HV distribution systems.
• Assist HV Ops Manager with proposals and technical solutions for clients.
• Oversee specifications, costs, budget and progress reporting.
• Ensure work is adequately instructed and communicated to the workforce.
• Manage Health & Safety on site and ensure safe works.
• Manage sub-contractors and maintain quality standards.

A great opportunity is available for a Senior Authorised Person to join a well-known Electrical Contractor based in Hamilton. The company provide maintenance services to clients across the country on projects such as hospitals and distilleries, carrying out design, testing and commissioning for installations and refurbishments up to and including 33kV.

Responsibilities

• Execute construction and asset replacement projects on 11kV - 33kV distribution networks.
• Work with HV Operations Team and clients to prepare HV outages.

• Undertake on site testing and commissioning of customer HV distribution systems.
• Work with the HV Operations Manager to provide proposals and technical solutions for clients.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

• HNC in Electrical Engineering – Power Distribution or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
• HV Private Networks experience essential.
• City & Guilds in HV Operational safety
• IOSH / NEBOSH (desirable).
• HV Senior Authorisation status required (e.g. DNO Authorisations, or with other organisations).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an electrical contracting environment and be technically competent.
• Knows when to say no both from a technical and safety perspective.
• Has appreciation and understanding of the commercial impact of practical actions on customer’s sites.
• The ability to work in a controlled way under pressure.
