Job Description

We're seeking a talented person to join our ABS Training and Development team.

As an Audit Training and Development Manager, you will be a part of our ABS Training and Development team, which is responsible for playing a key role in training staff in practical ways to manage the firm’s regulatory and reputational risk in an increasingly challenging environment.

We’re a national team of both direct staff and volunteers, proud to work closely with audit teams to provide continuous and relevant practical training. We are also a part of the Assurance Technical and Training (ATAT) and we are working closely with Learning and Development, to provide a cohesive service.

As a Training and Development Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with all stakeholders, including the Training and Development Lead, to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant training and that feedback is taken into account
  • Organising, developing, reviewing, and delivering training to agreed timescales
  • Preparing proposals for developing training, attending all relevant internal meetings and training sessions, and developing a network of contacts
  • Managing or co-managing a limited portfolio of audit clients to maintain knowledge and experience of current practices and issues

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified by experience (ACA, CA, ACCA) with significant external audit experience gained within a professional services environment
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics, and their application.
  • Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work is undertaken by appropriate individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders

Desired skills:

  • Previous experience in developing and delivering practical training
  • A strong appetite to see people develop and improve audit quality
  • Ability to develop and present practical audit content at a high level, responsive to the needs of the business
