Job summary

Cooper Parry in Birmingham is hiring an Audit Trainee to deliver statutory audits for a diverse client base, gaining hands-on experience from day one within a tight-knit team.

You will study for the ACA while working, supported by a dedicated Student Support Manager, with a clear path from degree/GCSEs to qualification. The role starts in January 2027 and offers a structured development plan.

Qualifications

• Completed degree by start date with at least 3 A Levels BBC, including one STEM or business subject.
• School leavers required to meet the same A Level criteria.
• Willingness to study ACA while working and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and documenting client information — invoices, bank statements, payroll reports
• Assessing the accuracy and reliability of financial data
• Attending client year-end stocktakes (sometimes on weekends or around Christmas)
• Speaking with client finance teams to understand their systems and processes
• Assisting in preparing financial statements using our audit software
• Working in small teams to carry out financial testing and contribute to audit reports
• Meeting deadlines and supporting your team to deliver high-quality work
