Job summary

Cooper Parry in Reading is seeking an Audit Trainee to start a pathway toward becoming a qualified accountant. You’ll gain hands-on experience delivering statutory audits for a varied client base and develop skills from day one, supported by your team.

You will study ACA while working, with a plan that covers college courses and on‑the‑job learning, taking approximately 3–4 years depending on graduate or school-leaver status.

Qualifications

• Completed degree and 3 A-Levels (BBC) including numerical or business subject.
• Genuine interest in how businesses work and audit processes.
• Willingness to study ACA while working.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and documenting client information— invoices, bank statements, payroll reports.
• Assessing the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Attending client year-end stocktakes (weekends around Christmas possible).
• Speaking with client finance teams to understand systems and processes.
• Assisting in preparing financial statements using audit software.
• Working in small teams to carry out financial testing and contribute to audit reports.
• Meeting deadlines and supporting the team to deliver high-quality work.
