Job summary

Cooper Parry in Reading is seeking an Audit Trainee to learn on the job while pursuing the ACA. You’ll review client information, gain hands-on experience from day one, and work with a tight-knit team delivering statutory audits for a varied client base.

The programme starts in September 2027 with assessment centres on 2 December and 17 March. Graduates need a degree and 3 A Levels (BBC), including a numerical or business-related subject; school leavers require the same.

Qualifications

• Completed degree and 3 A Levels (BBC) including numerical or business-related subject.
• Strong attention to detail with numerical data and client communications.
• Motivation to pursue ACA qualification alongside a busy workload.

Responsibilities

• Review and document client information (invoices, bank statements, payroll reports).
• Assess accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Attend client year-end stocktakes (some weekends around Christmas).
• Communicate with client finance teams to understand systems and processes.
• Assist in preparing financial statements using audit software.
• Work in small teams to perform financial testing and contribute to audit reports.
• Meet deadlines and support the team to deliver high-quality work.
