Job summary

Cooper Parry’s Birmingham office is recruiting an Audit Trainee to begin in September 2027. You will join a tight-knit team delivering statutory audits for a varied client base, gaining hands-on experience from day one and building skills that matter.

As you study for the ACA through college courses and on-the-job learning, you’ll be supported by your team and our Student Support Manager. The programme runs for about three to four years depending on entry route.

Qualifications

• Completed degree and at least 3 A Levels (BBC) including a numerical or business subject.
• Interest in Audit and understanding of how businesses operate.
• Willingness to study for ACA while working and balance priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review and document client information such as invoices, bank statements and payroll reports.
• Assess the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Attend client year-end stocktakes (weekends around Christmas).
• Speak with client finance teams to understand their systems and processes.
• Assist in preparing financial statements using our audit software.
• Work in small teams to carry out financial testing and contribute to audit reports.
• Meet deadlines and support the team to deliver high-quality work.
