Ashdown Group has been engaged by a leading provider of professional training and services to assist in recruiting an Accounting Subject Matter Expert with in-practice experience, who is professionally qualified to ACA or ACCA standards or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical knowledge in audit, accounts, and compliance regulation, with the ability to interpret changes and translate them into engaging written and verbal guidance.

About the Role

The organization delivers over 100 training events for accountants in practice and collaborates with over 800 firms nationally. In this role, you will utilize your engaging presentation style and experience in training or coaching within the accountancy profession to support accountants' ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Writing and delivering high-quality, impactful technical accounting and audit presentations.
2. Producing accurate, up-to-date, and practical training materials tailored to client needs.
3. Sharing expertise through the A&A Technical Queries helpline, contributing to technical content, and conducting independent file reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Candidate Attributes, Experience, and Qualifications

1. Strong technical knowledge in audit and accounts.
2. Ability to conduct thorough research to stay current with regulatory changes.
3. Good commercial awareness of the UK accounting profession.
4. Professional qualification to ACA standard or equivalent, with relevant post-qualification experience in the Big 4 or a practice environment.
5. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English for complex writing tasks.
7. Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
8. Team player, willing to support colleagues.
9. Confident presenter with strong communication skills.

Additional Information

This is a home-based/remote role with some travel required. The package includes a competitive salary of up to £65,000-£75,000, car allowance, 25 days holiday, pension, life assurance, and income protection.
