Job summary

BC Financial Search Ltd presents an Audit Senior opportunity with a leading Preston accountancy practice. You will lead audits from planning through to completion, supervise junior staff and collaborate with Managers and Partners to deliver a high-quality service.

The role requires ACA or ACCA qualification and strong UK accounting knowledge, with experience guiding audit assignments and a proactive path toward Audit Manager.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent recognised accountancy qualification.
• Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Good technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
• Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
• Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients, including larger businesses and corporate groups.
• Supervise and review the work of junior auditors, providing guidance, coaching and technical support.
• Identify and assess audit risks, developing appropriate testing strategies and audit procedures.
• Review financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant UK accounting and auditing standards.
• Work on more complex assignments involving group audits, consolidations, acquisitions, disposals and business restructuring.
• Lead audit planning and completion meetings, liaising directly with clients and senior colleagues.
• Assess internal controls, identify potential weaknesses and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Manage audit budgets, monitor progress and ensure assignments are completed efficiently.
• Build strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process.
• Work closely with Managers and Partners to identify opportunities for improvement and additional client services.
