Austin Rose Associates Limited in the Midlands is seeking an Audit Senior to lead statutory audits for SMEs and large groups, guiding engagements from planning through on-site completion. You will act as the main client contact, building strong relationships with senior management and financial controllers.

The role covers planning and structuring audits, reviewing controls, and delivering commercial recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory audit engagements from planning through on-site completion for SMEs, large corporate groups, and renowned commercial entities.
• Act as the main client contact throughout fieldwork, building strong ongoing relationships with senior management and financial controllers.
• Plan and structure audit assignments, managing assignment timelines, job budgets, and fieldwork deliverables.
• Prepare fully documented audit files and compliance reports in line with relevant regulatory and accounting standards.
• Review internal accounting controls and risk assessments, delivering commercial recommendations to client leadership.
• Supervise and coach trainees and junior team members during on-site and remote audit field assignments.
• Ensure audit assignments are completed accurately, on schedule, and within agreed commercial budgets.
• Collaborate with audit Managers and Partners on technical accounting queries and client advisory projects.
• Contribute to practice growth by supporting client onboarding, proposal development, and networking initiatives.
