Job summary

Qualifications

Audit Senior | Plymouth | £38,000 to £45,000

A long-established South West firm with the backing of a national group. That combination doesn't come up often down here.

R.T. Marke & Co has been looking after small and medium-sized businesses across Devon for more than 30 years, with offices in Bideford, Exeter and Plymouth. They are hiring an Audit Senior into the Plymouth office to work with SME and owner-managed clients.

The role

You would run audits from planning through to completion, and be a proper point of contact for your clients rather than someone who turns up once a year.

• Leading audit assignments end to end, in line with auditing standards
• Reviewing junior team members' work and supporting their development
• Building relationships with clients and getting to know how their businesses actually run
• Managing your own workload and deadlines across several assignments
• Spotting where the firm can add value beyond the audit itself
• Working with managers, partners and the other departments to get work delivered
• Keeping on top of changes to accounting and auditing standards

What they need from you

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with solid audit experience behind you
• Audit experience gained in a UK accountancy practice
• Comfortable juggling several assignments at once
• Good with clients and confident building rapport quickly
• Some experience supervising or mentoring juniors
• Commercial awareness, particularly around SMEs and owner-managed businesses
