Job summary

eps.recruitment in Banbury is seeking an Audit Senior to manage a varied audit portfolio, reporting to Directors and guiding junior staff. You will shape the firm’s audit approach, oversee planning, execution and closure, and help develop the team while maintaining high standards of audit quality.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification is essential.
• Proven experience leading audit teams in practice.
• Solid grounding in audit standards and FRS 102.
• Confident with common accounting software (Xero/Sage/QuickBooks; Caseware or CCH a bonus).

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning through sign-off for a varied client portfolio.
• Scope assignments, set deadlines and allocate team time.
• Test internal controls and provide practical recommendations.
• Write clear audit reports and liaise with Directors and clients.
• Supervise and develop junior colleagues.
• Support improvements to audit, risk and assurance processes.
• Assist with accounts preparation alongside audit work.

Audit Senior | Banbury | £45,000 – £55,000 | Permanent

A growing, forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking for an Audit Senior to run a varied portfolio of audit clients and take real ownership of the work.You will sit close to the Directors, shape how the firm approaches audit and assurance, and help bring on the junior team.

This is an audit-led seat with some accounts exposure, so you will keep a broad skill set rather than being boxed into one corner.Relocators will be considered.

What you'll be doing

• Leading audits from planning through to sign-off, including more complex clients
• Scoping assignments, setting deadlines and allocating the team's time
• Testing internal controls and giving clients practical, commercial recommendations
• Working directly with Directors and clients, and writing clear audit reports
• Supervising and developing junior colleagues
• Helping to improve the firm's audit, risk and assurance processes
• Some accounts preparation alongside the audit work

What you'll bring

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Proven experience leading audit teams in practice
• Solid grounding in audit standards and FRS 102
