Job summary

Butler Rose is partnering with a well-established independent firm in Manchester to appoint an Audit Manager. This leadership role focuses on owning a diverse portfolio, planning, delivering and managing audits to ISAs and firm standards.

The candidate will lead audit teams, manage client relationships, and ensure value through strong technical judgement. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience, and a proven ability to work under pressure

Qualifications

Experience in a professional practice environment at Audit Manager level.
Experience managing an audit portfolio and maintaining strong client relationships.
ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience and at least 7 years in audit.

Responsibilities

Managing the full audit lifecycle, from planning through to completion, in line with ISAs and firm quality standards.
Leading, developing and motivating audit teams through effective delegation, coaching and regular feedback.
Monitoring budgets, WIP, billing and recoverability to support portfolio performance.
Maintaining strong professional standards and effective communication, especially under pressure or change.
Supporting risk escalation, CPD and departmental initiatives.
