Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a well-established North West practice in Wigan to recruit an Audit Manager. The role leads a varied audit portfolio, from planning to completion, with responsibility for quality, timeliness and client service. You’ll mentor junior staff and work closely with Partners and Directors on complex matters.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with significant UK audit experience.
• Experience leading audit assignments and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

Audit Manager

Are you an experienced Audit Assistant Manager or Manager looking for a new challenge with a highly respected independent accountancy practice where you can make a genuine impact? A well-established and successful North West accountancy firm is looking to appoint an Audit Manager to join its Wigan team. With a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality audit, accountancy and advisory services, the firm works with an impressive and varied portfolio of clients, from owner-managed businesses and growing SMEs through to larger corporate groups and international organisations.

Audit Manager Responsibilities:

• Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients across a broad range of industries and sectors.
• Leading audit assignments from initial planning through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Reviewing audit files, financial statements and working papers to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing practical, commercially focused advice.
• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior members of the audit team.
• Working closely with Partners and Directors on complex audit matters and wider client requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
• Ensuring audit assignments are delivered to a consistently high standard.

Audit Manager Attributes:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with significant audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
• Currently operating at Audit Manager level or an experienced Audit Assistant Manager ready to take the next step.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS where relevant, and UK auditing standards.
• Experience managing audit assignments, reviewing files and supervising audit teams.
• Confident communicating directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
• A proactive, personable approach and a genuine interest in helping clients and colleagues succeed.
