Think Accountancy & Finance in the Newcastle area is seeking an Audit Manager to lead audits for owner-managed and international subsidiaries, from planning through to completion.

The role offers a path to senior leadership within a supportive independent practice, with mentoring for junior staff and opportunities to advise on internal controls and processes.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Experience managing audits within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Experience leading group audits and managing client relationships.
• The confidence to work independently while supporting and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

We're partnering with a highly respected accountancy practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme that has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional service to owner-managed businesses, group companies and UK subsidiaries of international organisations.

Following continued growth and the addition of several new audit clients, they're now looking to appoint an Audit Manager to strengthen their Corporate Services team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied audit portfolio while working closely with approachable Directors in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role

As Audit Manager, you'll take responsibility for managing audits from planning through to completion, ensuring files are prepared to a high standard before Director review.

You'll work with a diverse client base, including manufacturing businesses, service companies, group structures and international subsidiaries. Many clients are entering statutory audit for the first time, giving you the opportunity to provide valuable advice alongside delivering high-quality audit services.

You'll also play an important role in mentoring junior team members, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the audit department.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Previous experience managing audits within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Experience leading group audits and managing client relationships.
• The confidence to work independently while supporting and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Experience with PCase, CaseWare or Iris Audit would be advantageous but isn't essential.
