Job summary

Able Bridge Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a Scottish independent accountancy firm to recruit an Assistant Audit Manager. The role is office-based with at least 2 days per week on-site within a flexible/hybrid arrangement.

You will oversee audits across multiple sectors, mentor junior staff, and work closely with audit leadership to deliver high-quality client service. The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE in the UK, strong technical audit

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' PQE in a UK environment.
• Strong technical audit knowledge.
• Experience in managerial/supervisory roles within financial audit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied client portfolio across sectors including Technology, Health Care, Construction, Manufacturing and Charities.
• Work with Responsible Individuals and audit managers; review junior staff work and provide feedback.
• Lead audits with minimal supervision and coordinate planning and execution.
• Liaise with clients to understand industry and regulatory environment.
• Guide junior staff and develop their on‑the‑job training.
• Draft and review audit completion reports; ensure timely, within-budget delivery.
• Prepare statutory accounts and draft corporation tax computations.
