Job summary

Dains is seeking an exceptional Audit Director or Partner to join our Birmingham office. You will own a significant client portfolio, lead delivery of audit services, and drive business development to shape the future of our audit practice.

The role requires experience at Senior Manager/Director level, RI status or progress towards it, and a strong track record with UK auditing standards. You will coach teams, manage risk, and build lasting client relationships in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• RI status or working towards gaining.
• Significant experience at Senior Manager/Director level in practice.
• Extensive audit and assurance experience across a varied client portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience managing, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
• Commercial mindset with a drive to contribute to business growth.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across sectors, delivering high-quality audit services.
• Act as trusted advisor providing commercial and strategic insight.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and expand services.
• Lead, coach and develop Audit Managers and the wider team.
• Ensure audit quality, risk management and compliance with standards.
• Support business development through networking, tenders and proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Contribute to growth and strategic direction of the Audit service line.
