Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to develop their skills and progress their career in a supportive and professional environment. Whether you have already started your AAT studies or are looking to begin them, you will work alongside experienced accounting and audit professionals, assisting in the delivery of efficient and accurate accounting services to a varied portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of client financial statements, including:
  • Detailing client information on to the in-house accounting system using both manual and computerised data.
  • Preparing working papers to support financial statements.
  • Preparing summaries of debtors, creditors, pre-payments and accruals.
  • Preparing VAT reconciliations.
  • Posting accounts to the system.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations.
  • Posting financial information onto the in-house accounting software.
  • Assisting with MTD submissions.
  • Assisting the audit team with their audit engagements.
What We Are Looking For
  • Willingness to continue learning, whether that means carrying on with existing AAT studies or starting them for the first time.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and a desire to understand the “why” behind the numbers.
  • IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good educational attainment, grade 5 upwards in English and Maths, and good A level or T-Level results in related subjects (business, economics, maths).
Personal qualities we are looking for
  • Genuine care in building lasting bonds with clients and colleagues, treating every interaction with respect and integrity.
  • Inquisitive mindset, always seeking smarter, more efficient ways to work — demonstrating the value of always moving forward.
  • Pride in taking ownership of work, no matter how small the task, and commitment to delivering to the highest standards.
  • Collaborative spirit, thriving in a supportive team environment and eager to share knowledge to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong drive for growth and development, with enthusiasm to learn and progress through AAT/ACCA/ACA qualifications.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach, able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial information effectively and build trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Positive and resilient attitude, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn and improve.
What we offer you
  • The opportunity to be part of a collaborative and progressive team.
  • Excellent career progression and development.
  • Full study support.
  • 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Employee benefits scheme offering discounts from hundreds of retailers.
  • On site parking.
