Streets LLP in Halifax is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee a portfolio of clients with a high standard of professionalism and service quality. You will work closely with partners and clients, taking ownership of your workload while mentoring junior colleagues.

The role involves managing service delivery, maintaining client relationships, preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and companies, and supporting audit activities across client sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting service delivery for a client portfolio.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, attend meetings.
• Prepare financial statements for various entities (sole traders, partnerships, charities, Ltd).
• Assist with audit work and supervise junior staff.
• Oversee workflow and budgeting within the team.
• Review junior staff work and monitor performance.
• Prepare corporation tax returns and VAT/MTD as required.
• Provide guidance to clients alongside partners.

Role Overview

We are looking for an accounts manager to look after a portfolio of clients providing a high standard of professionalism along with quality of service. This is a key, senior role within the department. You will work closely with the partners and clients, taking ownership of your work while supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage accountancy service delivery for a portfolio of clients
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships, including attending client meetings
• Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies in accordance with the relevant accounting standards
• Working within the audit department in the auditing of accounts and financial statements including working at client sites and assisting junior members of staff.
• Organise the flow of work within the team, allocating assignments as necessary taking into consideration resourcing requirements
• Review work undertaken by junior staff
• Monitor and report on team performance
• Ensure that work is delivered with budget and time requirements
• Provide assistance in the development of junior staff
• Preparation of corporation tax returns
• Assistance/oversight of bookkeeping, VAT returns and MTD returns where required
• Advice to clients on all aspects above in conjunction with the partners
