Job summary

Prospero Integrated in Swansea is seeking a Lead AV Engineer to own on-site AV installation projects, lead the installation team and mentor junior engineers. You will ensure installation quality, coordinate with project managers and client representatives, and resolve technical issues on site.

The role demands hands-on commissioning, system testing and the ability to read AV schematics and rack layouts. Experience with DSP, AV over IP, and Crestron/Extron control is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of AV systems components and their integration.
• Experience reading AV schematics, rack layouts and installation drawings.
• Relevant AV H&S certificates such as IPAF & PASMA.

Job description

My client are a UK based leading provider of Audio Visual and Video Conferencing solutions - primarily across the Education sector. They are going through a sustained period of growth and now have a requirement for a Lead AV Engineer to be based in the Swansea. The Lead Engineer will take ownership of AV installation projects on site, leading the installation team, maintaining installation quality, mentoring the junior engineer and acting as the primary technical point of contact for site issues.

This role requires someone who can deliver projects independently while maintaining excellent communication with project managers, site managers and client representatives.

The successful candidate should demonstrate experience in:

• Installing lecture theatres, teaching spaces or other commercial AV environments.
• Supervising and mentoring junior engineers.
• Reading and interpreting AV schematics, rack layouts and installation drawings.
• Carrying out site surveys and identifying installation issues before they become project risks.
• Installing, terminating and testing AV systems to a high standard.
• Working on equipment racks.
• Troubleshooting and resolving installation issues independently.
• Communicating effectively with project managers, site managers and other trades.
• Delivering high-quality installations with minimal snagging.

Technical Knowledge
