Location: London, UK

A great opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of Audio Recording Technicians to work on a self-employed basis for Epiq, one of the world’s leading global providers of integrated technology and services for the legal profession.

You will be digitally recording several different types of legal hearings and keeping an accurate log of the proceedings using dedicated digital recording equipment supplied by the company. Successful candidates must be based in London or the greater London area. Hearings are primarily based in London, but there may also be a limited number of assignments in other locations within the UK or abroad, so some travel may be required. Coverage of remote hearings will be by agreement only, and travel and accommodation costs will be paid for remote assignments only.

You will need to be technically adept, with excellent attention to detail and good time management. Most hearings are on-site, but some virtual assignments may occur. You must have fast internet access and be familiar with participating in meetings on online platforms. When attending hearings in person, a professional appearance and formal business attire are required.

Shortlisted candidates will undertake Epiq’s online English, IQ, and typing assessments. Upon successful completion, full training in digital recording and logging will be provided.

Note: This is a self-employed role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and test digital recording equipment before hearings.
  2. Operate and monitor equipment during hearings to ensure quality recordings.
  3. Maintain accurate logs of proceedings, including speaker names and key words.
  4. Save and archive recordings according to Epiq’s conventions.
  5. Report daily to the UK resourcing team.
  6. Undertake training as required.

Personal Profile:

  • Minimum education: A level or equivalent.
  • Strong English language skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Relevant experience, preferably in legal, parliamentary, or business settings.
  • Technical skills with digital recording equipment.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage workload and deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently.
  • Confidentiality and discretion are essential.
  • Interest in law and current affairs.
  • Experience with live audio recording is required.

The Rewards:

  • Flexible earning opportunities.
  • Competitive pay rate.

Applications:

If interested and qualified, please email your CV and a cover letter explaining your suitability to [emailprotected].

Thank you for your interest. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
