Job summary

Reach is seeking an experienced Audience and Content Editor for our Glasgow hub on a hybrid basis. You will help maximise reach, engagement and subscription opportunities across the Daily Record, Edinburgh Live, Glasgow Live and Scottish Daily Express.

You will curate the homepage and section fronts, produce optimized newsletters, collaborate with reporters and editors, and use audience data to drive growth while ensuring IPSO compliance.

Qualifications

• Excellent editorial judgement with strong knowledge of Scottish, UK, and world news.
• Understanding of titles' missions and audience needs.
• Proven digital publishing track record across video, words and pictures with social media.
• Ability to use core editorial KPIs (pageviews, revenue) to guide storytelling.
• Deep knowledge of media law and IPSO rules.
• Holds an NCTJ or equivalent journalism qualification.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in a newsroom.
• Methodical problem-solver under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Curate the website homepage and section fronts, and produce optimized daily newsletters.
• Generate ideas for subscriber growth, retention, and premium content performance.
• Plan, publish, and distribute content across social media to maximise reach.
• Identify and develop advanced content opportunities (polls, graphics, video).
• Monitor editorial KPIs and use audience data to inform decisions and growth.
• Work closely with reporters and editors to reach the right audiences at the right times.
• Combine editorial judgement with audience insight for cross-channel journalism.
• Ensure all content is legally sound and adheres to IPSO standards.
