Job summary

Astrea Academy Sheffield is seeking an Attendance Officer to monitor attendance patterns, investigate persistent absence, engage with families and maintain accurate records. You will work with academy leaders, pastoral teams and safeguarding colleagues to address attendance concerns swiftly and effectively.

The role combines administrative excellence with strong interpersonal skills, safeguarding commitment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to help every scholar thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or in an attendance/pastoral/administrative role.
• Excellent communication with scholars, families and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with attendance data and IT systems.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

• Monitor attendance patterns and investigate persistent absence.
• Engage with families and conduct home visits where required.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with academy leaders, pastoral and safeguarding colleagues to address attendance concerns.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
