Job summary

Ince CE Primary School in Hindley (Wigan) is seeking a temporary Attendance Assistant to join the Pastoral Team. The role supports attendance monitoring, liaising with families and external agencies, and upholding safeguarding practices within a warm Christian ethos.

The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week, term time plus one week, with a salary of £22,630 per year (£13.70 per hour). The post is temporary until 31 August 2027, with immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupil attendance/records is desirable.
• Ability to communicate with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and school values.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pupil attendance and lateness daily.
• Follow up absence and lateness with guidance from Pastoral Manager.
• Check accuracy and coding of attendance registers.
• Liaise with parents, social services, and other schools about attendance.
