Job summary

Cranford Park CE Primary School in Yateley is seeking an enthusiastic Attendance Officer to work with the headteacher and our friendly team. This role focuses on improving pupil attendance and building trusting relationships with families to support pupils across the primary age range.

You will need initiative, resilience and strong communication to handle confidential information and to develop bespoke solutions for different families, while maintaining high expectations for improvement.

Qualifications

• A frontline public-sector background is desirable, not necessarily in education.
• Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented and data-driven.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with discretion.

Cranford Park CE Primary School is a delightfulone-form-entry school in Yateley – a “small school with a big heart” (Ofsted2025), set in a spacious attractive environment. We are an inclusive,nurturing school looking for a positive, resilient individual tojoin our friendly team as an Attendance Officer, working directly with theheadteacher to improve the attendance of our pupils. This is a fantasticopportunity to play a key role in supporting pupil attendance within awelcoming school environment.

The successful candidate will be required to workwith families to improve the attendance of children throughout the primary agerange. A trusting, positive relationshipwill be essential in ensuring the best progress so the successful candidatewill need a warm, enthusiastic approach, while maintaining high expectations forimprovement where necessary. We are ideally looking for someone who:

• Has some experience of working with families as afront-line, public-sector worker. This would not need to be in education.
• Is organised, detail-oriented and confident workingwith data and systems, including record keeping.
• Has good problem-solving skills, creativity andinitiative to take the role further.
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills,with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Has resilience, is flexible, positive and notphased by difficult conversations.
• Is willing to go ‘over and above’ as part of theteam.
