Job summary

E-ACT The Oldham Academy North is seeking an Attendance Officer to promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the academy. You will work with students, families, staff and external agencies to implement attendance procedures and support every student to reach their potential.

The role involves maintaining records, analysing attendance data, following up absences and contributing to safeguarding and home visit activities where appropriate, within a busy school environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with experience using school information systems.
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate attendance and punctuality records, ensuring data is complete and up to date.
  • Manage first-day absence procedures and follow up on unexplained or unauthorised absences.
  • Produce and analyse attendance reports to support academy improvement and intervention strategies.
  • Work closely with students, parents/carers, staff and external agencies to promote positive attendance.
  • Support attendance initiatives, home visits and safeguarding procedures in line with academy policies.

The Oldham Academy North is seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to play a vital role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the academy. Working closely with students, families, staff and external agencies, you will help ensure that attendance procedures are implemented effectively and that every student is supported to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will provide effective administrative support for attendance processes, maintain accurate records using school systems, analyse attendance data, follow up on absences, and support interventions that remove barriers to regular attendance. You will also build positive relationships with students and parents, contribute to home visits where appropriate, and support the academy's wider safeguarding responsibilities.,

Pay range: SCP 7-11 - £25,833.29 - £27,535.58 - FTE: £27,274.00 - £29,071.00 - 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year, Financial and Lifestyle
