Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking an Attendance Mentor to join Walsall Council on an initial 3‑month temporary contract. The role is full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on‑site with the local authority.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about helping children and young people access education and reach their full potential. You will mentor and analyse attendance data, work with schools and families, and support attendance improvement plans while liaising with partner

Qualifications

• Experience as an Attendance Mentor in an educational setting.
• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
• GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
