Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an Attendance Mentor to join Walsall Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and young people to access education and achieve their full potential. The role involves mentoring, data analysis, liaison with schools and families, and maintaining detailed records to support attendance improvement plans.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Attendance Mentor in an educational setting
• Experience working with children, young people and families
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Good IT skills including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
• GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Mentor, monitor and analyse attendance data.
• Work with schools, pupils, parents and professionals to address attendance concerns.
• Support and review attendance improvement plans.
• Attend meetings and liaise with partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes.
• Promote positive attendance and early intervention.
