Job summary

Opus People Solutions Ltd is recruiting on behalf of Walsall Council for an Attendance Mentor. The role is hybrid, based in Walsall Town Centre with school/home visits, working 37 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will mentor and monitor attendance data, liaise with schools, parents and professionals, and maintain accurate records. A full UK driving licence with access to a car and business insurance is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an educational setting.
• Knowledge of attendance processes within schools.
• Experience supporting school attendance improvement.
• Experience working with children, young people, and families, especially those with a social worker.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

Attendance Mentor

Rate of Pay: 16.35 per hour PAYE / 22.20 per hour UMB

Term Time Only

Hybrid working - Office based within Walsall Town Centre and School/home visits.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday (30-minute unpaid break). 8.30am-4.00pm Friday (30-minute unpaid break)

Duration: Temporary basis, until 31st March 2027 with potential to extend
