Job summary

The Derby High School, part of Prestolee Multi Academy Trust, is seeking an Attendance Officer to lead day-to-day monitoring of pupil attendance and punctuality. You will collaborate with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to identify barriers to attendance, implement interventions and maintain accurate records.

A proactive, data‑driven approach and strong communication are essential. Experience with school MIS such as Bromcom is welcome, and the role may involve some evening events

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality and take follow-up action.
• Liaise with Local Authority, families and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and generate reports.
• Support reintegration after absence and coordinate interventions.
• Attend evening events if required and adhere to safeguarding duties.
