Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is assisting a growing engineering organisation in Leeds to appoint a Principal Town Planner to help establish a brand-new Leeds office and deliver a range of private-sector planning projects.

The successful candidate will lead planning services, manage client relationships and drive growth through the new office, using your experience to shape strategy and build the regional presence.

Qualifications

• Experience at Principal Town Planner level or above.
• Strong background in private-sector planning within consultancy/engineering.
• Must have a town planning degree or master's.
• MRPTI or working towards.
• Good understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
• Experience managing planning projects and stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities for growth.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ambition to help establish and grow a new Leeds office.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Experience operating at Principal Town Planner level or above.
• A strong background in private-sector planning, ideally within a consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• MUST have a town planning degree or masters
• MRPTI or working towards
• A sound understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
• Experience managing planning projects and working with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and project management skills.
• The ambition to play a key role in establishing and growing a new office.
