Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting for a Principal Town Planner to lead private-sector planning efforts and establish a brand-new Leeds office. You will shape project delivery, manage client relationships, and drive growth in a dynamic consultancy environment.

The role requires experience at Principal level, UK planning knowledge, and a proactive mindset to contribute to the new Leeds office’s success.

Qualifications

Experience operating at Principal Town Planner level or above.
Strong background in private-sector planning, ideally within a consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering environment.
MRPTI or working towards.
A sound understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
Experience managing planning projects and working with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and project management skills.
The ambition to play a key role in establishing and growing a new office.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the growth of the planning function and delivery of a range of projects.
Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Support the development of the Leeds office from its early stage.
Help identify opportunities for business growth and service expansion.
