Job summary

Carrington West is assisting a growing engineering organisation to appoint a Principal Town Planner in Leeds to help establish a brand-new office.

You will shape the planning function, manage projects, and build client relationships as the Leeds office grows, leveraging private-sector experience and industry networks.

MRPTI or working towards and a town planning degree are preferred; join at an exciting stage of expansion and contribute to future strategy.

The Opportunity

As Principal Town Planner, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the planning function, support the delivery of a range of projects, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

About You

• Experience operating at Principal Town Planner level or above.
• A strong background in private-sector planning, ideally within a consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• MUST have a town planning degree or masters
• MRPTI or working towards
• A sound understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
• Experience managing planning projects and working with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and project management skills.
• The ambition to play a key role in establishing and growing a new office.
